I compose music for instruments and electronics, and I also create multimedia art.

My work is inspired by phenomena such as feedback, resonance, and interference, both through the sonic materialities of objects and sites as well as through their interdependent functions and histories. These themes manifest in different processes: writing code to generate or recombine audiovisual material, creating hybrid digital/physical systems of instruments or materials, and mapping one medium onto another. My practice as an artist both draws from and resists my training and work as a composer – many of my objects and installations employ or reference music, often in gestural or improvisatory ways, while resisting music’s linear temporal form.
